So after a few weeks of venue shopping and job hunting, Dustin and I decided to take a vacation. We started in North Carolina. Right now we’re in Washington D.C. and next week we’ll be in New York.
We decided to take the East Coast trip because I have not met some of Dustin’s family in North Carolina and he has not met most of my father’s family in New York. So, we contacted family and friends and are road-tripping our way up the East Coast, making several stops on the way.
So far everything has been fantastic. We started our trip in West End, North Carolina, where I met some of Dustin’s family and we dropped off his sister to spend some time down there. Then we stopped in Cary, where my former roommate Leslie and her husband Nate live. Our next stop was the Outer Banks, which is on the coast. We loved North Carolina because it had everything we don’t have in Indiana— mountains, an ocean, islands, beautiful views.
Now, we’re in DC, staying with a college friend and meeting up with other college friends. We’ve gone to the monuments and some museums and today we’ll do more of the “tourist=y” stuff, but we have a fantastic tour guide (another friend from college) to show us the city. Dustin’s never been to DC, so part of the trip was about showing him how AWESOME the US capital is and how much cities have to offer.
